Things to do in the Tarn

Mountains, forests, vineyards, rivers, poutous, little villages... Everything you need for a snail's pace!

ALBI

Unesco World Heritage Site.
Don't miss: the Cathedral of Sainte Cécile, the Palais Épiscopal de La Berbie, the collegiate church of Saint Salvi and its cloister, the old bridge and the old town.

GAILLAC

Its vineyards, set against the rounded backs of the hills, have an air of Tuscany about them. The vines took root 2,000 years ago; caressed by the sun and pampered by the Autan wind, they produce red, white and rosé wines with a taste of la Dolce vita.

CORDES SUR CIEL

Bastide, clinging to the sky, taking us back in time to the Middle Ages with every step, every turn of every square; it's called the city of a thousand arches.

Your holidays in Le Tarn

From duck breast to white wines and local producers, ewe's milk cheese (from the sheep that have roamed the fields), pink garlic from Lautrec, bright sunflowers, fig trees along the paths, walks along the trails, wild animals and grilled meats over crackling embers: this is just a tiny part of what awaits you when you come to the Tarn.

The Tarn is a little-known department, and that's part of its charm: it's unique, secret, hidden but infinitely rich.

Situated at the heart of the Occitanie region, it is bordered by Aveyron, Tarn-et-Garonne, Hérault, Aude and Haute Garonne. Occitan culture has forged the identity of the Païs for over a thousand years.

The Tarn is first and foremost a land of culture and crafts: pottery and ceramics, leatherwork, glassblowers, sculptors, metalworkers, textile designers ....

It's also a place where you can explore the paths traced by the Cathars, follow the Roman road or take a canoe trip.

Between a horse ride and a visit to Albi, perhaps you'll have time for a few lengths in the calm waters of the swimming pool, or a book in the shade of an oak tree.

Just a few words to give you an idea of what's waiting for you in the area:

Horse-riding, eco-friendly farms and rounds of golf

Hiking among the vines, in the Montagne Noire, or near the rocks of the Sidobre

Tastings at local producers' and discovering local specialities

Water sports, tree-climbing and rock-climbing tours

Visit the museums of famous painters, the episcopal city of Albi, the majestic Sainte Cécile cathedral or the cobbled, flower-filled villages.
